About this file

This is a specifications document for the Missouri Department of Transportation, St. Louis District, detailing requirements for Force America 1750 Gallon Slip-In, Full Baffled Anti-Ice Units. The Missouri DOT seeks qualified vendors to supply these specialized spray units, which will be installed on the agency's asphalt dump trucks. The anti-ice units must feature full baffled poly tanks based on Ace Roto-Mold's Free Standing Horizontal Bulk Storage Tank with Sump, Part No. FM1750-62, or functionally equivalent alternatives. Each unit requires three-lane spray capability with 48 gallons per minute per lane, hydraulically driven hypro liquid pumps, vertically adjustable stainless steel spray bars with center lane straight stream nozzles and side lane boom configurations, side mount guide wheels, fold-up leg kits, and complete assembly on a protective-coated mild steel skid before shipment. The contract period is 12 months from the Notice of Award, with additional units available for purchase as needed.

The units must be fully assembled and ready for installation into MoDOT's proprietary dump bed, with specific dimensional compliance required: bed length 148–184 inches, width 78–85 inches, and tailgate spacing 90–95 inches center to center. All units must be compatible with Force America ground speed hydraulic control systems and include warranties, owner's manuals, and operating instructions. The awarded vendor must provide harnessing to boom valves to integrate with the trucks' transmission sensors for manual operation. Bidders submitting functionally equivalent tank substitutions must include manufacturer specifications and drawings with their bids. Pricing terms, set-asides, and funding sources are not detailed in the specifications document.
