The Employee and Leadership Development Program includes a variety of robust, competency-based courses designed for new and seasoned supervisors and managers as well as aspiring supervisors. The courses are led by both internal and external presenters and most of them are three to four hours in duration.
To obtain a Certificate of Completion for the Program, you must successfully complete any combination of eight qualifying courses. These courses are noted under the audience throughout the training catalog. This will give you the flexibility to choose courses based on your own focus and career goals. Each year, the course selection will be different and we may offer the same courses multiple times depending on their topics and/ or attendance levels. It may take several years to complete the certificate depending on how many qualifying courses you attend each year, but there is no time limit on the number of years one may take to complete the Certificate.
The Certificate of Completion counts toward one year of supervisory experience in meeting the minimum qualifications for job opportunities requiring supervisory experience. Employees who participated in prior rounds of the program may choose from any of the qualifying courses to complete their certificates as long as the course topics are different.
All Supervisors, Managers and Department Heads are also expected to attend two qualifying courses from the Employee and Leadership Development Program on a yearly basis.
