About this file

This is a reference material document (technical annex) that outlines the scope of work for extending Base Communication Office (BCO) telecommunication services from Building 30 to Buildings 390 and 90 at Naval Complex Joint Reserve Base New Orleans (JRB NOLA). The project encompasses fiber optic installation and network equipment deployment across three buildings.

The fiber optic installation requires contractors to install a 24-strand single-mode (SM) fiber cable through existing manholes and conduits connecting Building 390 to Building 90, with no splices permitted between buildings. The installation must include mule tape in each conduit, proper cable labeling identifying size and building connections, and neatly wrapped service loops in manholes and building entry points. The network equipment scope includes installation of a switch extension in Building 30 and deployment of fiber switches, equipment cabinets, Power Distribution Units (PDUs), and ethernet patch panels in both Buildings 90 and 390. All fiber connections must utilize LC connectors, and equipment grounding must be connected to existing building bus bars. The existing fiber from Building 390 back to Building 30 will be integrated into the newly installed system. Service drops to telephones already utilize existing CAT6 cabling. The proposed layout is provided as reference only and must remain compatible with the current switch in Building 30.
