About this file
This amendment pertains to a project managed by the Port of Newport and represents a cancellation and project delay determination. The Port of Newport has determined that proceeding with the project in the current fiscal year is not in the public interest and has cancelled the project without awarding any bid. The Port cited budget constraints as the primary reason for the cancellation, noting that all received bids exceeded the allocated project budget. The Port intends to resolicit the project in approximately the same timeframe during calendar year 2026, with the objective of completing the project during fiscal year 2026-27.
No pricing information, contract terms, or award amounts are specified in this amendment, as the project has been closed without bid award. The Port expressed appreciation for bidder interest in the original solicitation and indicated expectations for similar levels of interest when the project is resolicitied in the coming year. Interested parties with questions regarding the cancellation or future resolicitation are directed to contact Deputy Executive Director Aaron Bretz at abretz@portofnewport.com.

Text version
The Port of Newport has determined to delay this project until next fiscal year in the interest of the public. The Port of Newport has cancelled and closed this project for this year without award of bid because the bids were over the Port’s budget for the project. The Port will resolicit in approximately the same timeframe in CY2026 with the intent to complete the project in FY2026-27. We appreciate the interest in the project and hope to see the same amount of interest in the coming year. If you have any questions, please contact Deputy Executive Director Aaron Bretz at abretz@portofnewport.com
