Chokecherry and Sierra Madre Eagle Nest Monitoring; Power Company of Wyoming, LLC; Carbon County, Wyoming. SWCA is providing pre-construction raptor nest monitoring for environmental planning in order to avoid project impacts to eagles and other raptor species of concern. Role: GIS / CADD Specialist.
Cross-Tie Transmission Line EIS; TransCanyon; White Pine County, Nevada.
SWCA is serving as the third-party NEPA contractor responsible for preparing an environmental impact statement (EIS) for a proposed approximately 214-mile-long extra-high-voltage transmission line crossing BLM, USDA Forest Service, state, and private lands in west-central Utah and east-central Nevada. Facilities would consist of transmission line structures and conductors, two substations, access roads, and associated temporary work spaces. SWCA is currently in the pre-NOI phase of the NEPA process and working with the lead federal agency and cooperating agencies to complete an EIS preparation plan, identify potential resource issues, and develop a set of preliminary resource constraints to be considered in alternatives development. The main issues identified include visual and cultural resources, existing land use and recreation, and special designations. SWCA is contracted to lead and complete the NEPA process through the public scoping, analysis planning, draft EIS development, public comment period, and final EIS and Record of Decision phases. Role: GIS / CADD Specialist.

Role: GIS / CADD Specialist.
Environmental and Social Constraints for Carbon Management Siting; Great Plains Institute for Sustainable Development, Inc.;
New Orleans, Orleans Parish, Louisiana. SWCA developed a public-facing story map for carbon management development in Louisiana. This story map provided educational context and an interface for two interactive map tools that allow the user to explore and evaluate project siting constraints related to environmental justice and environmental permitting factors. The story map also included a tool that scored these factors using metrics developed by SWCA, enabling the user to compare the combined environmental justice and environmental permitting constraints among multiple siting alternatives. The data sets and metrics used in the environmental justice constraints analysis were refined through a series of live public meetings with the communities affected in Louisiana. Role: GIS / CADD Specialist.
Grandview Solar Land Use Permitting Services; Confidential Client; Pueblo County, Colorado. SWCA is providing preconstruction services for multiple solar and battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Colorado.
