About this file

This is an Amendment 1 Questions and Answers document for the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) related to Request for Proposal 220000002297 for exterior window cleaning and power washing outdoor surfaces at the Detroit Operations and Service Center. The project requires bidders to clean windows and wash exterior surfaces at the DOSC building. A mandatory site visit is required for all bidders to view the worksite, which comprises all exterior areas of the building. Bidders may optionally notify MDOT's Program Manager, Harold Inman, prior to conducting their site visit, though no formal appointment is necessary.

The amendment clarifies critical service delivery requirements through responses to bidder inquiries. Historical window cleaning at the facility has consistently utilized a man-lift for access to building windows, and this equipment will be required for the proposed work. The amendment confirms that bidders must provide all window cleaning equipment necessary to complete the work, including a man-lift if required. The document indicates that alternative cleaning methods such as water-fed poles have not been previously used at this facility, establishing the expectation that traditional man-lift methodology will be employed for this contract award.
