About this file
This Amendment No. 1 to Request for Bid 2017-1524 is issued by the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining & Safety under the Department of Natural Resources for the Powerline Project, a mine closure initiative located in Lake County. The amendment modifies closure methods for two features and updates project specifications. Feature 04, an adit, now requires polyurethane foam (PUF) closure with eight cubic yards of material set ten feet from the opening and extending eighteen inches minimum, followed by three-foot minimum backfill with onsite material. Feature 05, a shaft, requires eight cubic yards of PUF installed at twelve feet below ground surface with four feet of backfill above it, plus backfilling of an adjacent shallow depression for drainage purposes. Item 4.0 of the bid schedule has been revised to allow for provision and installation of up to five additional cubic yards of PUF as directed by the project manager, with measurement and payment calculated to the nearest cubic yard. The bid deadline is 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2017, with submissions accepted electronically through Colorado VSS or by mail/fax to Teresa Ryan at the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety.
The revised bid schedule requires contractors to provide pricing for five line items: mobilization/demobilization as a lump sum job, a Safety, Health & Environmental Action Plan as a lump sum job, installation of mine closures totaling five features (shaft backfill, adit hand backfill, adit door, and two polyurethane foam closures at eight cubic yards each) as a lump sum job, additional PUF at a unit price per cubic yard for up to five cubic yards, and optional medium excavator rental at an hourly rate for up to five hours. All features are funded through Lake County sources, with Features 01 and 03 funded by FMI (Fund Management Information) and Features 02, 04, and 05 funded by FMI and BLM respectively. Contractors must acknowledge receipt and acceptance of this amendment on their bid form and submit the revised bid schedule with all line items completed; failure to return all pages and complete all items will result in bid rejection.
