About this file

This is Amendment #1 to a Request for Quote issued by the State of South Carolina on behalf of John de la Howe School for the purchase and delivery of crushed stone materials. The solicitation seeks Crush and Run aggregate (minimum 200 tons, maximum 450 tons) and Number 4 Stone (minimum 200 tons, maximum 450 tons) to be delivered to the John de la Howe campus. The deadline for submission of offers is March 22, 2023 at 2:00 PM, with questions due by March 15, 2023 at 2:00 PM. No pre-bid conference or site visit is required. Award is scheduled for March 29, 2023. Offerors must acknowledge receipt of this amendment by indicating the amendment number and issue date on Page Two of their bid submission.

The amendment corrects preference options on the bid table as highlighted on the bidding schedule. All bids must address SC End-Product Preference, United States End Product Preference, and SC Resident Vendor Preference claims for each line item. Key clarifications provided through questions and answers address that Number 4 Stone may be sourced from multiple quarries, while Crush and Run must be pulled from a single quarry. The Resident Vendor Preference requires an in-state office and either inventory of at least $50,000 or status as an SC-headquartered manufacturer with annual payroll of at least $1 million. Subcontractor preferences (2% and 4%) are available only for service contracts and do not apply to this commodity procurement.
