About this file
This is Amendment #1 to a Request for Bids (RFB) issued by the University of Wisconsin-Madison for Steam Trap Surveying and Repair Services. The amendment addresses questions submitted by prospective bidders regarding the solicitation #2024-UWMSN-00454-RFB. The contract scope involves surveying and providing ongoing service and maintenance for existing steam traps across the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus. The university maintains more than 15,000 steam traps distributed across multiple buildings (150+) spanning a 900-acre campus with over 25 million square feet of conditioned space. The amendment clarifies that the university will not provide site walkthroughs to allow bidders to conduct steam trap counts, as the scope encompasses numerous buildings requiring comprehensive bid estimates.
Bidders are directed to submit responses online through the ShopUW+ platform at https://bids.sciquest.com/apps/Router/PublicEvent?CustomerOrg=UWisconsin. All questions regarding the solicitation must be directed to Brad Bauman at brad.bauman@wisc.edu. The amendment demonstrates the university's effort to address bidder inquiries and establish clear expectations for the competitive bidding process, emphasizing that contractors must develop their proposals without the benefit of an on-site inspection of all facilities involved.
