About this file
This is Amendment #1 to a Request for Bid (RFB) issued by the University of Wisconsin-Madison for window and wall coverings and accessories, including drapery and upholstery fabric with optional installation services. The solicitation seeks bids for multiple product categories including Graber blinds (various gauges and styles), Graber faux wood products, Hunter Douglas roller shades, Lutron systems, and SWF contract products. Responses must be submitted online through the ShopUW+ platform at https://bids.sciquest.com/apps/Router/PublicEvent?CustomerOrg=UWisconsin. Questions regarding the solicitation should be directed to Brad Bauman at brad.bauman@wisc.edu.
The amendment addresses pricing submission requirements for vendors whose manufacturers do not publish traditional price lists or utilize online ordering systems with volume-based or quote-to-order pricing structures. Vendors are instructed to submit either a 0% discount off list price or the maximum discount available for brands without published price lists on their itemized bid. Vendors may supplement their bids with documentation explaining alternative pricing methodologies such as web-based pricing matrices or volume-based discounts; however, this supplementary information will not be used in the award decision but may inform future purchasing decisions if the vendor is selected for the contract.

Amendment #1 for 2023-UWMSN-00343-RFB WINDOW AND WALL COVERINGS AND ACCESSORIES, INCLUDING DRAPERY AND UPHOLSTERY FABRIC AND OPTIONAL INST. Q &A Q1: Some manufacturers publish a price list and some do not. Some manufacturers have many price lists depending on the product and features selected. For example under the Graber Blinds category alone there would be a price list for Aluminum 6 gauge, 8 gauge, there are 5 styles of Aluminum blinds slats/headrails each category with their own price list. In Graber Faux there are wood tones, solid ones and two slat sizes so that would be 4 more price lists. Then on the other side SWF Contract does not publish price lists, it is all based on an order entry system online. Some manufacturers I have too many price lists it would be difficult to narrow it down to all the combinations you could do and others I don't have any to give you because it's all online enter matrix. Under roller shades it is a similar situation to offer you fabrics that range in the 0% to 13% as specified. I will have multiple fabric charts within Graber and Hunter Douglas. But same thing as blinds with Lutron and SWF contract, they are online systems that calculate prices and don't provide price lists.
Do you have a recommendation on how to navigate this yet provide you with enough information to submit on bid but not overwhelm you with too many or too few price charts to let you know what we offer.
A1: For vendors you sell that do not supply a price list, I would submit a discount of 0% off list on the itemized bid list, or the maximum discount off list you can provide for that vendor, even though certain orders may receive a greater discount. You can attach a supplementary document that provides additional information on how these brands are priced, such as quote to order, volume based, web pricing, etc. This will not be used for award, but would be used for future orders if you’re awarded on the contract.
