About this file
This is an Amendment #1 Questions and Answers document related to a Request for Bids issued by the University of Wisconsin-Madison for the purchase of swine enclosure gates under solicitation number 2023-UWMSN-00305-RFB. The amendment clarifies material specifications for the gate components in response to bidder inquiries. The solicitation process is being conducted through the ShopUW+ procurement platform at https://bids.sciquest.com/apps/Router/PublicEvent?CustomerOrg=UWisconsin, with all questions and bid responses required to be submitted online. Inquiries regarding the solicitation should be directed to Mike Marean at mike.marean@wisc.edu.
The amendment specifies that all materials used in the swine enclosure gates must be stainless steel Type 304 or better with a plain finish, with all sharp edges and welds removed. This clarification addresses bidder questions regarding whether alternative materials such as carbon steel with powder coating would be acceptable. The specification establishes a minimum material standard to ensure durability and safety of the finished product.
