Amendment No. A001 to Solicitation 19PA1026Q0001
This is an Amendment of Solicitation issued by the Department of State – American Embassy Asunción, effective March 31, 2026, updating Section B (Statement of Work) for repair work at Marine Security Guard Quarters in Paraguay. The project involves repairing floor slopes in nine shower stalls across nine bathrooms to address water drainage issues and safety hazards from slippery floors. One bathroom shower stall has already been completed as a test unit; the remaining eight bathrooms require repairs. Work must be performed during authorized hours: Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Friday, 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM, with no work permitted outside these hours or on weekends without prior written approval.
The contractor's scope includes: removing existing glass block and shower floor from each stall; modifying the plumbing system as necessary; installing new flooring with proper slope (minimum ¼ inch per foot, maximum ½ inch per foot) toward the drain per ANSI A137.1 standards; installing new glass enclosures with laminated or tempered safety glass in a sliding door configuration supported by extruded aluminum frames from above-ceiling space (not embedded in ceiling); furnishing and installing a longitudinal floor grate drainage system with stainless steel grate and PVC base; and coordinating specifications with the OBO Post Architect for design standard compliance prior to work commencement. Deliverables include eight fully repaired shower stalls, nine laminated glass panels with sliding doors, work completion to U.S. government standards, final inspection by the Contracting Officer's Representative, dust control with exhaust systems and vacuum cleaners, and deep cleaning upon completion of each stall. The contractor must provide all insurance required by local law and Defense Base Act coverage, coordinate with the Facilities Management Office regarding material approvals and specifications, and protect floors and walls during work. Contractors may use downstairs service area bathrooms during the project.
