About this file

This Amendment 1 clarifies technical specifications for the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Request for Bid 2026-UWMSN-01328-RFB for microwave analyzers designated for a wireless instructional laboratory. The amendment addresses four key technical inquiries regarding equipment capabilities. Regarding calibration, bidders should include a manual calibration kit with each unit rather than an automatic one. For spectrum analysis capabilities, a swept spectrum analyzer will be sufficient, and Real-Time Spectrum Analysis is not required. The solicitation specifies a minimum I/Q analysis and streaming bandwidth requirement of at least 1 MHz. Additionally, time domain analysis functionality is not necessary for VNA measurements, allowing bidders to exclude this feature from their proposals.

The amendment provides clarifying guidance to reduce ambiguity in technical requirements and enables bidders to submit compliant proposals that meet the University's actual operational needs without over-specifying unnecessary features. These clarifications directly address the most complex and costly technical specifications that bidders would otherwise be uncertain about, thereby reducing potential bid rejections or non-compliant submissions. Prospective vendors should incorporate these clarified requirements into their bids submitted through the ShopUW+ online bidding platform at https://bids.sciquest.com/apps/Router/PublicEvent?CustomerOrg=UWisconsin, with all questions directed to Thomas English at thomas.english@wisc.edu.
