About this file

This DD Form 2169C is a Special Packaging Instruction for an Engine Assembly (Part Number 80085426) dated 2/8/2023. The document provides comprehensive details for preservation, packaging, and shipping of a military engine, including specific requirements for cleaning, drying, blocking, hardware, and container specifications. Key preservation procedures include using a special preservative (MIL-PRF-21260, Type PE-10), cycling the engine with specific power and spray requirements, and installing protective components like slave filters and flywheels. Packaging involves using a bag envelope, desiccant, cushioning materials, and precise mounting instructions with multiple types of bolts, washers, and nuts to secure the engine within a shipping container. The document concludes with startup considerations, emphasizing the need to remove all packaging materials, check coolant levels, and follow specific fitting and operational instructions before initiating engine use.
