A. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS:

1. INSPECT THE PRESERVATION AND UNIT PACK IN ACCORDANCE WITH MIL-STD-2073-1E.

2. INSPECT THE CONTAINER IN ACCORDANCE WITH A-A-52462, INCLUDING THE FIRST ARTICLE

INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS.

B. FILL TRANSMISSION TO OPERATING LEVEL. ROTATE MECHANISM TO ENSURE 100% COVERAGE OF PRESERVATIVE ON INTERNAL SURFACES. REMOVE DRAIN PLUG AND DRAIN EXCESS PRESERVATIVE.

REPLACE DRAIN PLUG SECURELY.

C. APPLY TO UNPAINTED, UNPLATED FERROUS SURFACES.

D. PLACE INTO DESICCANT BASKET AND CLOSE DESICCANT PORT COVER.

E. THE UNIT CONTAINER IS THE SHIPPING CONTAINER.

F. SPECIAL MARKING SHALL BE APPLIED AS FOLLOWS;

TRANSMISSION ASSY SERIAL NUMBER SHALL BE STENCILED ON THE CONTAINER IN ACCORDANCE WITH

MIL-STD-129.
