THE INSIDE SURFACE OF THE DRUMS.
B. FILL INTERNAL RESERVOIRS TO OPERATING LEVELS AND ROTATE MECHANISM TO ASSURE FULL COVERAGE OF INTERNAL COMPONENTS. DO NOT DRAIN. (NOTE: ATTACH TAG TO EACH END STATING “RESERVOIRS FILLED WITH SAE J2360, 80W OPERATING LUBRICANT.”) IF NOT DONE BY MANUFACTURER, CAP OR PLUG ALL OPENINGS PER NAS847.

1. LOCATE (DETAIL 1) LOAD MEMBER SUPPORTS AND SECURE BY BOLTING TO OUTSIDE RUNNERS WITH
(DETAIL 9) CARRIAGE BOLTS (4) EACH PER FIGURE “D”.
2. LOCATE AND DRILL 3/4 INCH DIAMETER HOLES PER FIGURE “D” AND INSTALL (DETAIL 4) CARRIAGE
BOLTS PER FIGURE “E” WITH ONE (DETAIL 5) 1 INCH WASHER ON THE BOTTOM OF EACH TO PREVENT
THE HEADS FROM PULLING THROUGH.
3. INSTALL AND TIGHTEN A SET OF 3/4 INCH WASHERS AND NUTS ON EACH LOAD MEMBER SUPPORT PER
FIGURE “E”. (DETAIL 6 & 7)
4. LOCATE (DETAIL 3) BELL HOUSING SUPPORT PER FIGURE “D” AND SECURE BY NAILING.
5. STAPLE (DETAIL 10) CUSHIONING TO WOOD BLOCKS PER FIGURE “D”. CARE SHOULD BE TAKEN TO
LOCATE THE STAPLES IN AREAS FREE FROM ANY DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE AXLE.
6. SET PRESERVED AXLE ASSEMBLY IN PLACE AND SECURE DOWN WITH (DETAIL 2) HOLD DOWN
MEMBERS AND A SECOND SET OF 3/4 INCH WASHERS AND NUTS PER FIGURE “E”. COAT THE
EXPOSED THREADS WITH MIL-PRF-16173, GRADE 4 TO PREVENT LOOSENING.
7. PREASSEMBLE A SHROUD PER ASTM D7478, TYPE I, CLASS 2, INCLUDING CORNER STRAPPING. TOP
PANEL SHALL BE NAILED TO THE SIDE AND END PANELS WITH 12 PENNY NAILS SPACED 12 INCHES
APART. TENSION STRAPS SHALL NOT APPLY.
8. SECURE SHROUD TO SKID WITH (DETAIL 8) 3/8 INCH X 3-1/2 INCH LAG BOLTS PER FIGURE “E” AND ASTM D7478, TYPE II, EXCEPT LAG SCREW REINFORCING STRAPS FOR BOLTED CRATES SHALL NOT
APPLY.
G. THE UNIT CONTAINER IS THE SHIPPING CONTAINER.
H. SPECIAL MARKINGS:
