A. PRESERVATION AND PACKAGING SHALL BE INSPECTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH MIL-STD-2073-1D AND ANY
APPLICABLE CONTAINER SPECIFIATIONS.
B. CLEAN AND DRY ITEM BY ANY SUITABLE PROCESS BEFORE APPLICATION OF PRESERVATIVE AND PACKAGING
MATERIALS.
C. APPLY GREASE THROUGH GREASE FITTINGS.
D. PRESERVE INTERNALLY WITH OPERATIONAL FLUID.
E. SEAL ALL OPENINGS WITH CAPS/PLUGS OF THE APPROPRIATE SIZE.
F. PRIMER APPLICATION ON NONMETALLIC SURFACES SHALL BE HELD TO A MINIMUM. INTERIOR OF BRAKE DRUMS, BRAKE DISKS, CALIPERS, SHOES, AND RELATED BARE FERROUS METAL PARTS SHALL BE COATED WITH PRIMER.
G. APPLY PRESERVATIVE TO BARE UNPAINTED METAL SURFACES.
H. BLOCKING, BRACING, CUSHIONING, AND IMMOBILIZATION OF ITEM INSIDE CONTAINER IAW MIL-STD-2073-1 USING
MIL-STD-1186 AS GUIDANCE.
