International Boundary and Water Commission United States and Mexico United States Section Specifications for Air Operated Tire Changer General Description One (1) Air Operated Tire Changer is required at the Falcon Dam Field Office. A tire changer is critical at our field office for the purpose of changing tires when needed for our wide array of different equipment from lawn mowers to UTV’s to pickup trucks. This piece of equipment is crucial for our Operations and Maintenance employees to change tires when needed at the Falcon Dam Field Office.

The Air Operated Tire Changer, at a minimum, must meet the following requirements:

· Must be powered by 110-175 psi air supply

· Must be able to handle alloy and steel, car, and light truck tires

· Must include a 4 clamp, air cylinder operated wheel-clamping system

· Must include a swing-away mount/demount mechanism, or tilt-back mount/demount mechanism with automatic safety device

· Must be able to be used with tires up to 44”-50” diameter

· Must be able to be used with external rim diameters from 9” to 30”, or more

· Must be able to be used with rims with a width up to 16”, or more

· Width of the machine must be at least 53”

· Depth of the machine must be at least 68”

· Height of the machine must be at least 88”

· Must include a hand actuated bead loosener

· Must include device to help with efficiently changing run flat tires

· Must include tire inflator

· Must include tire inflation gauge 0-60 psi

· Must include air supply gauge 0-300 psi

· Must include a 1.5 HP air motor

· Must have a ship weight of at least 1,510 lbs

· Must include a 3-year parts warranty, at a minimum

· Must include a 6-month labor warranty, at a minimum
