About this file
This Performance Work Statement (PWS) details requirements for insecticide spraying at McConnell Air Force Base covering approximately 326 acres between and alongside parallel runways. The contractor must apply Bifenthrin-based insecticide (such as Tundra or Bifen 2 AG Gold) twice annually - once in late April/early May and again in the first two weeks of August - following product label instructions. Work must be performed on weekends between 0800-1700 hours, with the contractor providing all necessary personnel, equipment, transportation, and personal protective gear.
Key contractor requirements include maintaining DOT/EPA licenses, obtaining background checks for personnel, wearing identification badges, complying with base security protocols, and coordinating with the 22 ARW Safety Office point of contact, Galen Truan from USDA. The 22d ARW will provide water hydrants for chemical mixing and radios for communication during airfield escort. The contractor will be escorted onto the airfield, must remain in radio contact, and comply with all Air Traffic Control instructions. The solicitation is a small business set-aside for airfield pesticide services, with evaluations based on pricing and technical acceptance.
