2016 Amador PCT, AG-9JGP-S-16-0083, Pre-bid Tour5/11/2016
The pre-bid tour is intended to assist offerors with locating the work sites and answering questions regarding the technical specifications. Attendance is not mandatory in order to bid. The pre-bid tour does not relieve the offeror of the responsibility to make as much site visitation as may be necessary in order to make a firm fixed price offer.

Q & A from COR notes:
Q1) Is brushcutting required in the PCT units (Item 2)?
A1) Brushcutting is not required in Item 2.
Q2) Do I need to treat the recently thinned areas inside the brushcutting units (Item 1)?
A2) Some portions of Item 1 units were precommercially thinned last year. These areas must be treated under this contract. All technical specifications still apply.
Q3) Do I need to remove slash from within 5 feet of mature trees, or only plantation size trees?
A3) Slash must be removed from within 5 feet of all crop trees, which includes retained conifers and hardwoods of any size.
Q4) Do I need to cut brush on the very steep cut banks along the roadside in Item 1?
A4) All woody brush that can be safely reached must be cut. Areas mutually agreed upon as unsafe may be left untreated.
Q5) What is the minimum size brush that must be cut in Item 1?
A5) All woody brush must be cut to specifications. No minimum size is specified.
Q6) How does the species priority list work in the PCT (Item 2)?
A6) The species priority list works at the local (individual crop tree selection) and stand (overall species mix) levels. The overall principle is that a diverse mixed conifer stand is desired. For example, if a portion of a stand has many douglas fir and a few white fir, and they otherwise meet crop tree selection requirements, some of the white fir must also be retained as crop trees, but at a lower rate than the higher priority douglas fir.
Q7) What is the closest I can leave trees together to make up for existing unstocked areas in the PCT (Item 2)?
A7) Crop tree spacing is 18 feet plus or minus 40%. Minimum spacing between trees is therefore 10.8 feet.
