Statement of Work Supplying of Vigas, Latillas, Corbels, Posts, and Rough Sawn Timber
Scope of Work:
This work requires the contractor provide all vigas, latillas, posts, corbels and rough sawn timber using local wood products as specified below and identified in the Bid Schedule. All materials shall be delivered to the Camino Real Ranger District Office in Penasco, New Mexico as required by this contract.
Materials:
All vigas shall be a minimum of 12” diameter straight Douglas Fir logs with minimal knots. Vigas shall be hand peeled with a draw knife, clean and smooth with all bark, including the cambian layer, removed. All vigas shall be flat topped the full length of the log. Logs used for vigas shall have a minimum drying time of 30 days.
Hand split cedar latillas shall have dimensions of: minimum thickness – 1”, length – 3’, Width – 4”-12”. Both long edges shall be cut straight and parallel.
Aspen latilla poles shall be straight, hand peeled, smooth and have the following dimensions: minimum diameter at the smallest end – 2”, largest diameter – 4”, length – 8’.
Rough sawn timber shall be Douglas Fir and cut to the full dimensions as identified on the Bid Schedule. Logs used for rough sawn timber shall be dried for a minimum of 30 days.
Corbels shall be cut from Douglas Fir to the dimensions as shown on the drawings and delivered assembled.
Posts shall be Douglas Fir, sanded smooth on all four sides and chamfered as shown on the drawings. Materials used for posts shall be dried a minimum of 30 days.
A 3” to 4” flat cut is acceptable for the flat spot the length of the log.
All materials listed above shall be straight and warp free.
Delivery:
The materials shall be delivered to the Camino Real Ranger District office at 15160 State Road 75 in Penasco, NM.
Contractor shall be prepared to deliver materials to the Camino Real District Office approximately June 30, 2010. All material shall be bundled, boxed, banded, etc. to be delivered in a manner that can be unloaded with a forklift or a boom truck. Materials delivered in a manner that cannot be unloaded by a forklift of boom truck shall be the responsibility of the supplier to unload.
Contractor shall be responsible for replacing any damaged or missing materials.
Forest service will call 5 days in advance for delivery of materials and provide the machinery to unload the materials.
Payment:
Payment shall be made for all the materials delivered to the site as specified in the Statement of Work and Bid Schedule. Unit costs shall include all expenses for supply of material, delivery costs to project site, associated taxes and any other expenses to supply this material.
