Solicitation AG-82FT-S-15-0014 Pre-bid call Questions:

1. What were previous prices?

2011 BT - $1090 2011 Shoshone - $1295 2012 BT - $1090 2012 Shoshone - $1295 2013 BT - $899 2013 Shoshone - $995 2014 BT - $943 2014 Shoshone - $995 However, there was not the current requirement for 2-person crews on previous contracts.

2. Question on changes to the MIDAS interface on the website? The field variables had not changed and that observed additions were likely report oriented.

3. What are the distances to plots? Fuzzed coordinates are provided.

4. Can we use Forest Service radios for safety? The Forest Service could provide, conditional on receiving approval from Forest(s) involved and some training or restrictions may accompany any radio privileges.

5. Why is there no safety plan requirement? While we are still trying to decide how best to address contractor safety, OGC and Acquisition Mgt have advised us to remove this for now and substitute the current safety language in the guide.

6. A discussion on SEND devices such as SPOT, was held. I encouraged the group to have some type of emergency beacon available for all their workers in the woods.

7. Any restrictions on horses and outfitters to access plots? All outfitters must be on an approved list from the forest(s) involved. Exception may be made for contractor who owns horses (have to check with forest). May have to use approved feed and meet any regulations for interstate travel.

8. Are there P3 plots in this contract? There may be some P3 plot; however, there will not be any additional sampling related to P3.

9. Are some of the plots new (nor remeasures)? Yes, approximately 10% of Wyoming plots are new.

10. Is there still “accounting” on microplots? Yes, there is still accounting on those remeasure plots that had previously centered microplots.

11. Have the rules on measuring forked trees changed? Yes, since the previous inventories (1998-2002) the rules have changed from open crotch to pith intersection and this could cause some tree diameter measure points to change.

12. When are bids due? Friday (6/26) at noon Mountain Standard Time.

13. Is there non-forest sampling? Yes, on the Region 4 plots (B-T and C-T).

14. Will there be multiple awards? For this Wyoming project, yes there may be multiple awards.
