Scope of Work Logan HVAC Control Upgrades
General Description:
The project is to upgrade the HVAC controls for the Logan Forestry Sciences Laboratory from the current pneumatic and digital controls to a new Direct Digital control system that will allow for more reliable control of the HVAC system. Some components of the system will need to be upgraded or replaced so the new Direct Digital control system works properly and improves control of the air temperatures. This work is primarly located in the mechanical room that is roughly 20’ x 30’.
Detail Description:
North Air Handler:
On the North Air Handler for the basement zone of the system perform the work to provide Direct Digital Control that will provide stand alone control of this unit from the South Air Handler: Installation of multiple duct temperature sensors, relays, Electric to Pneumatic switches, a Johnson Control AS-UNT-1144 Digital Controller, Freeze Stat, current sensors, actuators, and one new digital thermostat to replace the existing pneumatic thermostat. The thermostat is located within 50 feet of location of the new digital controller. In addition, all work and supplies (conduit, wire, fittings, and parts) necessary to complete the project are included in the cost of the project to make it work and should be done in a clean and professional manner.
South Air Handler:
On the South Air Handler for multizones of the first floor the work to be performed to upgrade the controls to a Direct Digital Control system that is stand alone from the North Air Handler controls is as follows: Installation of multiple duct temperature sensors, relays, Electric to Pneumatic switches, Johnson Control AS-UNT-1144 Digital Controller, Freeze Stat, current sensors, actuators, 4 - Pneumatic Damper actuators and 3 pneumatic thermostats. In addition, all work and supplies (conduit, wire, fittings, and parts) necessary to complete the project are included in the cost of the project to make it work and should be done in a clean and professional manner. This work includes replacement of the 4 pneumatic actuators on the air handler and the replacement of three pneumatic thermostats in the lab spaces.
Network Automation Engine:
Install a Johnson Control Network Automation Engine (NAE) that will allow for future connection to a network for monitoring and observation.
Performance Requirements:
All work shall be done in a professional manner, including installing wiring in electrical channel or conduit. All old components are to be removed and properly disposed of. Work shall comply with National Electrical Code (NFPA 70).
