Palouse Recreation Site Rehabilitation – AG-82B1-S-10-0393 Ron Jaeger 08/25/2010 #1 Question – Could you verify the numbers of each length of table.

Answer - There was an error in the table listing quantities and sizes for the tables for this contract. Please use the following quantities and sizes:

· 16’ tables (requiring three concrete legs) – 10 at Laird Park and 5 at Little Boulder for a total of 15.

· 10’ tables (requiring two legs) – 9 at Laird Park only.

#2Question - What is the contract time for this project.
Answer – The contract time for this project has been extended until September 30, 2011.

Mike Rogers General comments – Several of Mike’s questions refer to specifications that did not apply to the project on the Palouse. An earlier version of the drawings was posted, but a newer set of drawings will be posted shortly. We apologize for the confusion created by this situation.

#1Question – How many wooden toilets to be removed and at what sites?
Answer – There are no wooden toilets to be removed in the Palouse Recreation Site Contract, the specification was inadvertently left in after part of the project was removed.
#2Question – How many existing table tops need to be replaced?
Answer - See answer to question 1 – this portion of the project was also removed.
#3Question – How many bulletin boards and what is the total length.
Answer – See answer to question 1 – this portion of the project was also removed.
#4Question – Are there any tent slabs, if so how many and where?
Answer – There are no ten pads included in this contract.
#5Question – Unit Posts? Need description and quantity.
Answer - See answer to question 1 – this portion of the project was also removed.
#6Question - How many rock barriers?
Answer – Rock barriers are not included in this work.
#7Question – Hitching post details.
Answer – Some of the drawings were missing when the drawings were posted to FedBizOps. This will be corrected shortly. The hitch rail detail is on page number 9.
#8Question – Seeding? Is there any?
Answer – There is no seeding included in the work items for this contract.
#9Question – Any trees to be removed, if so how many and locations.
Answer – There are no trees anticipated to be removed in this contract.
#10Question – Is it just painting and caulking of concrete toilets included or is there grouting and skim coating?
Answer – As part of the rehabilitation of each toilet the contractor will have to prepare the existing surfaces prior to applying the new paint. This would involve removing any damaged or peeling paint, removing rust from metal doors and window frames, and completing any other preparation required to attain a good painting surface. There is one toilet that sustained some damage from a shot gun blast (Horse Camp Trailhead) that may require a small amount of grout to provide a smooth painting surface.
#11Question – There are some discrepancies between pages 4 and 6 on the table pad numbers.
Answer – There are some errors. We will be posting an errata sheet when we update the drawings that will clarify those quantities.
#1AQuestions from second email – Do you have a fencing layout, or an approximate number of deviations off straight line.
Answer – We do not have the answer at this time, but will review the fence in the field and let you know by 9/03/2010.

#2A Question – Due to the remoteness of the site would it be permissible to add a hydrating stabilizer to the concrete? It would be more cost effective if this would be allowed as local concrete companies will only haul small amounts of dry batch as it is hard on their equipment.

Answer - For the sites covered by the Palouse Recreation Site Rehab contract that addition would be acceptable. The contractor would have to submit the product information on that substitution prior to using the product.

#1Question – Some toilets have asphalt surrounding them. Does the asphalt get cut to make room for the concrete pads.
Answer – Yes at Laird Park and Little Boulder Campgrounds there will be some asphalt removal to make room for the concrete pads.
#2Question - Are unit post signs furnished by government?
Answer – The unit post portion of the project has been removed.
#3Question – Any other signage?
Answer – There is no signage required for the Palouse Recreation Site Project.
