1. On the FBO.gov web site there is no page 6 of the plan set posted. Is this by design?

2. What are the testing requirements for the hot mix asphalt? Can you clarify?

3. On page 7 of 46 of the solicitation section C-4 it states FP-03 specifications are included for reference and will be part of the contract. Can you clarify, are we using the Forest Service specifications as the supplementals are referring to this book not the federal highway specifications.

4. Bid item # 2, removal of structure and obstructions quantity 1 each. What are we removing? I am assuming it is the existing retention wall that is severely deteriorated and will be replaced with bid item 4. am I correct? If so should this also be by the lineal foot?

5. Could you clarify the type of asphalt mix the project is looking for? More specifically, what type of oil, lime or anti strip required, class of mix according to FP-03 A, B, or C.

6. It is my understanding bid item 6 is for the overlay portion. Is bid item 7 for the turnouts, approaches and the 24,000 sf of remove and replace? Are we pre-leveling a portion of the overlay and if so do you have an estimated quantity?

7. Can you clarify the overall height of the gabion wall? It states a triple tier. There are multiple heights we can purchase of the basket.

8. Bid item #3 excavation. I assume this is for the new turnouts to be constructed. Are you going with a 4” gravel section and a 2” asphalt section?

9. Could you provide a typical detail for the turnouts?

10. Is there a ride specification for the project? What kind of oil does it call for? What kind of mix gradation? Can we use RAP in the mix?

11. Item #0006 & #0007 - Hot asphalt: Is there a tack coat between existing asphalt and new asphalt (to help adhere them together)? If so, what are the spec and rate of application?

12. The road width is only 14 ft. wide. We cannot pave and let traffic through as there is not enough room for trucks, paver, and workers making it an unsafe situation. Paver can only narrow up to 8 ft. wide and traffic cannot flow on new asphalt for at least 3 hrs. or more. The road needs to be closed during paving operations (Monday-Friday) and be opened on weekends. Is that acceptable?

13. Item #0004 - Gabion wall: Precast dog bone - Can we reuse the material (rock) in existing, or do we haul in new rock? If so, what size of rock?

14. Item #0003 - Roadway excavation: Can the roadway excavation waste be hauled in back of campground area (existing pit), approx. mile marker 3.50?

15. Removal of asphalt (24,000 sq.ft.) is very vague. Where on road? Nothing in road log shows any removal area. How many areas are there to do and what is the size of the areas? How many saw cuts?

16. Do we also have to saw cut for each turnout, non-typical approaches and typical approaches? How much Lf?

17. Are there any general notes with line items?

18. Are there any project specific plans available as the solicitation only shows general specification drawings? If so, can those be provided?
