III. Answers are in blue font:
Big Lake Rec Area Bldg Repairs Questions:
1. Can a drawing be provided that has dimensions for Building R605? If not, are the estimated quantities on the bid schedule accurate to include all surfaces, items, etc. (for example: does the square footage for exterior paint include all required surfaces to be painted including the fascia, beams, soffit, etc.)? Sheet 2 of 7 is drawing to scale (1 inch = 4 feet); quantities based on actual field measurements and are considered accurate
2. Sheet 2, Note 2 & B7.1 of Bid Schedule: Is there a spec on light fixtures to be installed? Floor drains, is this just the floor drain cover? There is no spec on light fixtures; replace in kind as shown in pictures in Exhibit 5. Replacing just the floor drain cover; replace in kind as shown in pictures in Exhibit 5
3. Sheet 2, Note 3: What type of roofing material is currently on the building (this will need to be removed and/or replaced depending on condition to remove the drip edge)? Is it possible to leave the existing drip edge and tuck the new J-metal behind the existing? Is there a spec on the J-metal (gauge, factory finish or painted, manufacturer)? Roofing material should be metal, but can’t verify at this time. Drip edge may remain if it can be shown the rotting fascia is caused by faulty gutters and not the drip edge/roof connection (see pictures); but drip edge would need to be painted/finished.
The J-wrap metal should be of the gauge to support the application. There is no specification in the contract. Drip edge &
J-Wrap color to match joist/girder finish per Sheet 2 and Specification (Wood Girders & Joists: CXT Nuss Brown, part
#RM40090)
4. B3.1 & B7.1 of Bid Schedule: Demolition/removal of gutters are on the bid schedule twice, which line item should include this? Use B3.1; “demo gutters” should not be in B7.1
5. The fish cleaning station appears to be integrated into the exterior walls. Are we to remove all elements of the cleaning station and replace exterior block or are we to cut and demo as much as possible and grind smooth? Please clarify what the patch work will require. For clarification, the fish cleaning station is shown on Sheet 6 with prep, prime, and paint work.
The reference is being made to Sheet 2 which used to be an old graywater cleaning system. Remove all elements, including tiles. Patch with similar block and sidewalk (about 10 SF), and finish per the clay masonry painting specifications.
6. Sheet 4, Note 2 & B6.1: Is the floor grinding primarily just to remove the layer of floor coating? What is the current floor coating? How far down are we expected to grind the concrete? Floor grinding is primarily to remove the layer of floor coating; current floor coating is unknown; grind to a depth as required to remove floor coating, and seal per specifications.
7. Sheet 5, Note 1: What is the current roof material on all toilet buildings that will have the vent stacks straightened? Are there currently roof jacks installed? Diameter of the vent stacks? Current roof material is standing seam metal roofs;
diameter is approximately 8” but needs field verification; roof jacks should be there but cannot verify at this time
8. Sheet 7, Details 2A and 3A: Detail 2A shows a 6” thick concrete slab and Detail 3A shows a 4” concrete slab. Is the concrete sidewalk replacement to be 4” or 6” thick. 4 inches
9. The glass that is to be replaced, is that wood framed window? Yes
IV. All other terms and conditions remain the same.
