2. STATEMENT OF WORK/SPECIFICATIONS/DELIVERY SCHEDULE:
BACKGROUND:
The Mediterranean fruit fly (Medfly), Ceratitis capitata and Mexican fruit fly Anastrepha ludens (Mexfly), are one of the most serious agricultural pests for the US and in the world. The Moscamed mass-rearing facilities in Guatemala provide Medfly pupae to the USDA in California, Florida, Texas, and Dominican Republic on daily basis, to help prevent the pest from entering the United States.
Therefore, there is a need to contract an air cargo company for the weekly transportation of approximately 120 boxes of biological material (C. capitata and A. ludens pupae) between 27 (+1.5) kg to 38.5 kg each to the listed destinations in the United States of America.
SCOPE of WORK:
The air cargo company is in charge of all administrative and logistics between Moscamend’s mass-rearing facilities in Guatemala and the airlines hired to transport the biological material from Guatemala to the United States of America complying with the Civil Aviation Administration regulations.
OBJECTIVES
Weekly delivery of approximately 120 boxes of biological material from La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala to the United States of America International Airports of Los Angeles, CA, San Diego, CA, Sarasota, FL, Houston, TX, and the Dominican Republic International Airport of Punta Cana, DR within a 24-hour maximum period for delivery under the required temperature (59 F° - 70F°).
