COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL OF SOLID WASTE

Peak season: Provide collection and disposal of solid waste once per week during the period of May 15 through the week following the observed Labor Day holiday for zones 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

Bi-weekly season: Provide collection and disposal once every two weeks after the observed Labor Day holiday through the end of October.

Off-season: Provide collection and disposal on an as requested basis the remainder of the year for all zones.

Recyclables Bid option to provide collection and disposal of recyclables at sites in Zone 2, 4, 5 and 6. Should be priced for peak, bi-weekly and off-season as well.

Dumpsters must be in good repair and painted one earth tone color (green, tan, or brown).

Collection Schedule:

Peak Season – May 15 through week following observation of Labor Day Bi-Weekly – After the week following the observation of Labor Day – October 31st Off-Season – Remainder of the year

Peak Season During peak season, the contractor will make 1 collection trip per week to pick up garbage. The contractor may choose any weekday, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM as his/her regular collection day. However, collection shall be made on a regular schedule so any given site will be collected on the same day each week. The collection day will be agreed upon between the inspector for each zone and the contractor prior to beginning the contract.

Receptacles shall be deodorized after emptying at sites 2, 3, 9, 11, 12, 13, 29, 32, 33.

Bi Weekly Season During bi-weekly season, the contractor will make 1 collection trip every other week to pick up garbage.

Off Peak Season During the remainder of the year outside of peak season, the government can request garbage collection (container pickup) at any sites listed in schedule of items. A special container pickup would involve collecting from a site or sites in addition to or outside of the regularly scheduled weekly pickup due to heavy use or for that period of time outside the weekly pickup schedule. A special container pickup is expected to be made within 48 hours of notification of the contractor. Off peak season pickups are most likely to be requested between

April 15 and May 15 and between November 1 and November 30. Pricing should reflect an individual price for each site.

Some site CORs will require that containers be removed from specific sites at the end of the peak or bi-weekly season. This collection will count as one off-peak season collection and shall be billed as such, additional costs will not be authorized for moving the container off site. At the beginning of the next season (if applicable) contractor will be responsible for returning the same size and quantity of containers to the appropriate sites where containers had been removed. Half the rate of an off-peak season collection will be authorized to return the containers since no “dumping” would have occurred.

Off-peak season collections, container removals and returns will be coordinated with Forest Service personnel, whom may require to be on site while these instances occur.

Solid Waste Disposal The contractor shall dispose of the solid waste in a State Licensed Sanitary Landfill. The contractor shall be responsible for obtaining permits and paying fees associated with the disposal.
