Site Showing Q&A:

Question: Will safety meetings require a daily report?

Answer: No. Reference Item 1.5 in Section H.2. of the Solicitation. Written daily records of QC activities should reference completion of site safety meetings for those particular days.

Question: How will “rain days” be added to the time of performance?

Answer: It was expected that rain days will be added to the period of performance on a one-for-one basis, performance time will be extended one day for each rain day.

Question: Will “rain days” have to be called from on-site?

Answer: Calling of rain days will be on a case-by-case basis. In cases of multiple concurrent days of rainfall, there should not be a need to physically drive out to the site to verify conditions. However, singular, localized events will require on-site determination.

Question: What is the allowable working schedule?

Answer: The allowable work schedule is not to exceed six days per week, ten hours per day.

Question: Will copies of certified payroll be required for progress payments?

Answer: Yes. Reference I.2(b)(5) of the Solicitation.

Question: Is seeding included in the scope of work?

Answer: No. Construction Specification 6 – Seeding, Sprigging and Mulching is included to address mulching as needed for disposal of woody materials removed for site access.

Question: If insufficient mulch is made to meet the specified coverage and thickness, can other materials be used?

Answer: Mulch will be applied as specified, to the extent that available materials allow.

No additional materials or mulching is expected.

Question: Is it acceptable to review progress payment applications initially on-site with inspector with regard to work completed, quantities delivered?

Answer: Yes.

Question: Will rock proposed for use be tested by soaking?

Answer: Yes. Type 2 rock is specified. Material Specification 523 establishes applicable tests (and ASTM designations) for specific gravity, absorption, and soundness.

Question: Do the rock tests have to be completed within a certain time frame?

Answer: As long as the provided test results are representative of the specific material proposed for delivery and use, there are no “expiration dates” on test results. Written notice of the proposed source of rock is required five working days prior to delivery (Construction Specification 61, Item 8.(2)). Certified gradation analysis is required prior to delivery on site (Construction Specification 61, Item 8.(3)).

Question: Can the designated QC person also work productively on the project?

Answer: Yes, to the extent it does not interfere with required QC responsibilities.

Question: Is there an engineer’s estimate of cost for the project?

Answer: Yes, the published range of estimated cost noted by the solicitation is $250k- $500k.

Question: Will access routes have to be cut in to the sites through the woods?

Answer: Yes, reference Item 7 of Construction Specification 2.

Question: If the lake level rises, will the water flow towards the work sites?

Answer: Yes.

Question: Will water have to be pumped away from work areas?

Answer: Yes. Dewatering as necessary to install the work is required. Coffer dam installation is also expected. Reference Construction Specification 11 and Drawing Sheets 7 and 15.
