Inspection Procedures:
COR or Inspector will sample all contract areas on a grid system. Sampling will consist of 1/100th acre plots at a rate of one (1) plot per acre over the entire unit to determine the total number of leave trees within the sample plots. The average number of leave trees per acre is determined using the following formula:
Number of = # of Leave Trees X 100 leave trees/acre # of plots
The COR or Inspector may, at his/her discretion, take more than one plot/acre if thinning is marginal in terms of acceptance. The specified minimum number of trees per acre is the minimum number of trees that must be left. If the Contractor leaves over the maximum number of trees/acres, then the Contractor will be guaranteed an opportunity to rework in order to achieve a lower number of trees/acres.
