Questions/Clarifications from pre-bid meeting 27 April 2010:
1. Q: Contract performance time is listed as 120 days on SF1442 and 50 days in FAR 52.211-10.
Which is correct?
A: Contract time should be 120 days. Amend FAR 52.211-10 to show 120 days.
2. Q: Where are the Davis Bacon wage rates attached?
A: Wage rates will be posted on FBO.
3. Q: Can on-site native rock be used instead of a commercial source?
A: Yes, use of on-site native material is allowed under Specifications Section 905- Control of Materials.
4. Q: Are seeding quantities shown on the schedule of items correct?
A: A revised Schedule of Items will be posted on FBO.
Questions submitted via email 28 April 2010:
5. Q: How wide an area is to be seeded and mulched? By my calculations you would need to seed and mulch a path 18' wide to get the total in the schedule???
A: See answer Question 4.
6. Q: The fertilizer and mulch rates are listed at 10 # per 100 square feet. That is approximately 2.5 tons to the acre!! We rarely put more than 400lbs per acre on our good farmland. Unless I miscalculated the rate called for would probably kill the grass.
A: Rates shown are incorrect. Amend Seed, Fertilizer & Mulch Drawings as follows: “Apply fertilizer at a rate of 1000 lbs per acre.” “Apply mulch in accordance with Specification
955.08 (to a loose depth of 1”-2”).
7. Q: Is item 92108 plastic arch one twenty foot installation or two ten foot installations?
A: The specified drainage structures are prefabricated sections with a standard length of 85.4” (installed).
8. Q: What is the typical work season for this location?
A: The work season is weather dependent.
