Solicitation Number: AG-4419-S-10-0621

Answers to questions:

Will the Boat Ramps be closed during the construction? Yes. Each boat ramp will be closed during construction. Only one boat ramp may be worked on at a time.

Does the Redlands boat ramp include the access road? No it does not.

What happens to the existing curb and gutter? The existing curb and gutter remain. The existing curbing shall not be damaged. Contractor shall repair any contractor caused damage at his own expense.

How long do you want the pavement to last? 30 years before replacement.

What type of loading is the Forest expecting on this site? The project consists of two boat ramps so the Government expects the design to reflect the forces one would normally encounter at a boat ramp. Vehicles will be passenger vehicles towing boats and trailers.

What specs will you be using? This is a Federal Project we will be using FP-03 for the specifications, as stated in the solicitation. They will be modified as stated in the solicitation. The aggregate gradations and asphalt mixes shall be those used by the State of Georgia Department of Transportation. The design standards are as above. The design is the product of the successful bidder.

How do we know what to submit with our price? This solicitation asks vendors to provide the Forest Service with a proposal to provide a paved surface and sub-grade that will remedy the pavement failures currently at the site. The Forest Service is not providing a specific remedy. We are expecting the contractors to provide their solution in their technical proposal.

Award will be made to the vendor offering the lowest priced technically acceptable proposal.
