The group began at the existing treatment plant, then looked at each of the drain field areas. Plans and specifications were reviewed at each location
Specific Questions, Answers, and Comments follow:
An amendment will be issued to address necessary items discussed below. The due date for proposals will be extended.
The Buy American Act was pointed out on page 13.
The existing wooden storage building shown on sheet 2 will remain in place. The chain link fence will be adjusted to fit the new conditions. The chain link fence will not be moved inside the existing retaining wall.
All demolished material must be removed from the project site. Burying in the existing tank locations will not be allowed. Structural fill material must be imported to fill the holes under new structures. (Acceptable structural backfill is described below).
Fine, readily compactible soil or granular material, free from frozen lumps, stones larger than 2 inches, highly plastic clay, and organic or other objectionable material. Excavated material meeting this requirement may be used with approval.
OR

| Sieve Designation |

The large drain field system is a pumped system. The small drain field is about 4’ deep and is gravity.
Trees/area to be cleared is not adequately defined. The amendment will clarify.
No on-site construction can begin before August 1.
The existing treatment plant cannot be taken out of service until October 1 unless CO approval is obtained which will happen only if visitation diminishes.
CO must be notified a minimum of two weeks before work in the vicinity of sites 29-31. One or more of these sites may be used for staging.
Timber does not become the property of the contractor. Marked timber will be cut by the contractor and decked nearby. Chipping of all other trees, tops, branches, or brush may be spread over the large drainfield, no deeper than 4” in lieu of seeding. All other materials must be disposed of off-site.
The loop trail around the campground and in the vicinity of the restroom drain field is expected to be newly rehabbed prior to the work of this contract. Local patching will not be allowed should damage occur. A 1” overlay will be required to cover the length of the trail encompassing all the damage.
Site amenities may be removed and reset to avoid damage. Any damage to amenities and sites must be repaired or replaced.
Should you have any questions regarding these notes, or find any errors or omissions, please advise Cliff Northrop immediately.
