Treatment Unit septic system to support a maximum of 25 employees assigned to the Inter-Agency Fire Dispatch center. The plant shall consist of a fiberglass aeration tank, air diffusion with blower assembly, with inner circular type conical clarifier. The treatment plant’s main tank shall be constructed of ¼ inch minimum thickness fiberglass. A pre-treatment tank shall be provided to receive the incoming flow. The aeration tank shall be sized to provide a minimum of 24 hour hydraulic detention time at the average daily flow (ADF). The clarifier shall be designed so as to provide optimum liquid-solid separation and shall be sized to provide eight hours hydraulic detention at the average daily flow ADF rate. The clarifier shall be installed inside the main tank. An in-line chlorinator shall be included in the treatment system to achieve disinfection by chlorination of the final effluent.

The effluent from the treatment plant shall gravity flow through a tablet type chlorinator tank; Air diffusion drop pipes of ¾” inch schedule 40 PVC pipe shall supply air to diffusers. Electrical connections to the breaker box and control panel shall be furnished with each compressor that will protect the compressor from overload and failure to start. Included in the panel shall be a pressure switch alarm system that will sound an alarm upon loss of air supply as well as a high water alarm. A buried sand filter sized with a surface area equal to 2 gallons per square foot per day and dosed at least once but not more than 4 times per day shall immediately follow the aerobic treatment plant.

All submitted design documents shall be reviewed and approved by the Contracting Officer (CO) before construction takes place.

2.2 The Inter-Agency Fire Dispatch Center, located on the Crab Orchard Natural Wildlife Refuge Marion Illinois, is a one-story, 4,992 square foot facility.

2.3 Equipments, Materials, Products and Supplies. All supplies and replacement parts shall be standard and readily available through commercial means.

2.4 Codes and Standards. The design, materials, equipment, and installation shall be in accordance with the requirements of the listed codes. All references used shall be the latest edition. The listed references may not be all inclusive, and it is the Contractor’s responsibility to meet all codes. The Work shall be performed in compliance with the latest editions of the following codes: International Mechanical Code, National Electrical

Aerobic Treatment Unit. Submit five (5) half-size sets. Provide calculations, and product data.

3.2 Product Data/Shop Drawings. Provide manufacturers’ information in the form of their standard catalog data complete with pictorial information and supporting technical data. Submit five (5) copies for each item for the

Aerobic Treatment Unit septic system.

3.3 Record Drawings. At project completion, submit two (2) half-size paper sets of as-built drawings indicating the sanitary sewer septic system installed. Record changes to drawings during construction. As-built drawings record the locations, sizes, and nature of concealed items such as, sewer lines, valves, etc. These records (with dimensions) form a permanent record for future reference. Government shall review and approve drawings and may require that they be resubmitted if there are errors or omissions.
