CONTRACT SPECIFICATIONS
Acquired A.T. Structures Removal
DEMOLITION AND TRASH REMOVAL
Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, and materials to demolish and remove from National Forest Land all buildings, foundations, footings, slabs, tanks, vaults, piping, wells, all man-made/fabricated materials, and trash at the sites in compliance with the requirements of the National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAPS), and current good construction/demolition practices to at least 2 feet below existing ground surface. The contractor will package, transport, and dispose of all construction, demolition, and miscellaneous on-site debris. The Contractor will close the driveway to vehicular traffic at the completion of the site demolition by removing all pavement if it exists and ripping/tilling the surface in preparation for seeding and mulching. Approximately two loads of clean fill dirt shall be spread over the upper end of the driveways to make entry from the main road by vehicular traffic impossible. The contractor shall make every attempt to preserve trees, bushes, shrubs, and landscaped areas at the site whenever possible.
Wells shall be permanently abandoned by filling with sand or gravel up to 10’ depth. The remainder of the well shall be filled with sand-gravel grout only (reference VDH Waterworks Regulations).
Watchmen, barricades, fences, lights, and other protection shall be provided to protect adjacent property and the general public. All man made/fabricated materials and trash shall be completely removed to at least 2 feet below existing ground surface.
All known asbestos containing materials and all known hazardous materials have been removed from all sites.
Attending the scheduled site showing is highly encouraged. Site access and location, layout, and other logistical issues which may affect price can only be obtained from a site visit. Some of the properties are not easy to find by conventional maps and directions.
SITE RECLAMATION
The site shall be reshaped, graded to drain, seeded, and straw mulched to blend into the site’s remaining surrounding natural landscape vegetation, site drainage and contours. Seed shall be (10%) Annual Rye grass, (45%) Fescue grass, and (45%) Kentucky Blue grass and evenly applied at a rate of 5 lbs. per 1,000 square feet. Mulch shall be straw, hay, or other materials approved by the COR and evenly applied at a rate of 2 tons/acre.
ARRA SIGNAGE
Two sets of ARRA signs shall be located on Highway 52 as directed by the COR. All costs associated with signage shall be incidental to other pay items. Furnish and install signs according to the plans and specifications.
