Grow Containerized Pine Seedling and Wire Grass 9
Each box shall be clearly marked identifying seedlings by Forest Service seedlot number, customer, date extracted and packed, species and number packed.
Lifting will begin at the request of the Forest Service. The Government will provide a minimum of 5 days notice prior to anticipated shipment. Contractor shall not "stock pile" seedlings in anticipation of orders. Seedlings received with extraction dates over 16 days old will be rejected by the Forest Service.
Extracted seedlings shall be kept in cold storage (35 to 38 degrees F) in shipping boxes until delivery.
A location and phone number for the seedling delivery sites will be provided to the contractor.
260 Deliveries - The Forest Service will furnish the contractor with a delivery schedule between October 15 and January 31 of each planting season. It is inherent in this type operation that, due to unforeseen weather conditions and coordination between those involved with the planting contract, a firm delivery schedule cannot always be followed. Because of this, the delivery schedule may be adjusted by agreement between the contractor and the Government provided at least five (5) calendar days notice of needed changes is given. The contractor shall transport seedlings to designated locations using cold storage transports capable of maintaining the shipment(s) at 45 degrees F. or lower. Seedling delivery cost shall be the responsibility of the contractor.
Deliveries of seedling shipments shall be coordinated between the designated Forest Service representative and the Contractor, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal Holidays, during normal operating hours unless deemed necessary by the COR.
