Prince Creek Float Replacement Clarification Questions #2:
Question #1
Period of Performance Section C.1 states that due to wildlife restrictions, pile driving cannot be done until May 15,2016 and C.2 states that the estimated start work date is October 5 th
2015 and completed no later than June 30 th
2016. However, addendum #1 states that the period of performance is between 10/05/15 to 03/31/16. Please provide the correct period of performance and the allowable time for the pile driving.
Answer#1: Contract end date is 6/30/2016.
Please bid pile driving as it shows in the contract with: due to wildlife restrictions, pile driving cannot be done until May 15, 2016.
Question#2
The specs tells us to drive the pile to very tight tolerance including drilling them if rock is encounter. However, no soils reports information are provided. We’ve installed piles at 25 Mile
Creek and encountered rock so therefore we believe rock may be present at the site and a downhole hammer pile drilling method might be required to install the piles. A downhole hammer is a very expensive method so are we to include a downhole hammer drilling installation in our bid? Or can we obtain a copy of the soils report to review the soils condition in the area?
Answer #2: There are no soil reports completed, so we will be unable to provide that for you.
