AG-04R4-S-16-0034
The Middle Fork Ranger District is requesting bids for the purchase and delivery of 2,525 tons of “Grading A” crushed aggregate rock to Forest Service Roads 5821, 5824-124 and 5826. Roads 5821, 5824-124, 5826 and all other Forest Service roads used for access are single lane, low standard gravel roads. Aggregate delivery described in this contract is in support of an existing road reconstruction project that will be operating during the execution of this contract. Delays should be expected. Coordination of aggregate delivery dates, times and locations with the COR as well as coordination of reconstruction activities with project equipment operators, laborers and supervisors will be required. The specifications below summarize the requirements of the order.
General
All crushed aggregate shall conform to the specifications listed below in “Material Specifications for “Grading A” Crushed Aggregate”. Submission of a material certification is required prior to delivery of aggregate. Load tickets (in tons) shall be submitted daily. There will be other equipment and construction activities within the project area during the aggregate delivery timeframe. Expect delays and coordinate with the COR and equipment operators to minimize conflicts.
Road 5821
Place aggregate as listed in the tables below. Place lifts to cover the existing road width, including turnouts and curve widening, with approximately a 5” depth of un-compacted aggregate to provide for a processed and compacted aggregate lift depth of approximately 3”. The aggregate lift sections will be processed by a water truck, grader and roller as aggregate is placed. Coordinate with the COR and equipment operators to minimize conflicts and to facilitate the processing of the aggregate. Delays in aggregate delivery should be expected.
Aggregate lift sections
Place aggregate lifts as listed in the table below. Aggregate lift sections must be placed between the dates of 7/18/16 and 7/21/16, 6 AM to 6 PM. Contact the COR to coordinate delivery times and locations.
