DIVISION 2 - SITE WORK

Tent Site 02311

1. Part 1 - GENERAL

1.01 summary

A. This section specifies preparing, grading and surfacing tent sites.

2. Part 2 - PRODUCTS

2.01 materials

A. Aggregate

1. Material to be clean graded aggregate smaller than 1/2 inch diameter.

3. Part 3 – EXECUTION

3.01 Construction

A. General

1. Grade around tent site (10’x10’) shown on the drawings or marked on the ground, and smoothly blend into existing contours and slope to drain.

2. Hand rake areas within the grading limit. Remove all roots, brush, weeds and stones larger than 1 inch from the finish graded surface.

B. Surfacing

1. Remove excess material, not required for grading and apply a uniform depth of aggregate surface.

4. Part 4 - MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT

4.1 Method of Measurement

A. Measurement will be for the number of completed tent sites.

4.2 Basis of Payment

A.

Payment will be made at the Contract unit price for each Tent Site constructed.

B.

Grading, and surfacing required for this item are indirect.

DIVISION 2 - SITE WORK

WHEEL STOPS, PLASTIC 02451

PART 1 - GENERAL

1.1 Summary

A. This section specifies furnishing and installing plastic composite vehicle parking stop.

1.2 Related Sections

PART 2- PRODUCTS

2.1 Materials

A. Plastic or composite wheel stop shall conform to the dimensions specified by the manufacture shown on the drawings.

B. Provide plastic composite material wheel stop conforming to Checkers Industral Safety Products, INC manufacture item # CS6C-H-G or an approved equal.

PART 3 – EXECUTION

3.2 Construction

A. Furnish all hardware (steel pins and washers) to firmly anchore (6’) wheel stop in place as shown on the drawings or marked on the ground.

PART 4 - MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT

4.1 Method of Measurement

A. Measurement will be the number of wheel stops supplied and installed.

4.2 Basis of Payment

A. Payment will be made at the contract unit price for each Wheel Stop installed.

B. Hardware to install wheel stop is indrict to the bid item.

FIBERGLASS WASTEWATER SUMPS

5. Part 1 - GENERAL

5.01 summary

A. This section specifies construction and installation of fiberglass wastewater sumps.

5.02 Related sections

5.03 Submittals

A. Submit prototype for approval by COR. The final approved prototype may become one of the sumps to be installed.

6. Part 2 - PRODUCTS

6.01 materials

A. Fiberglass Cone.

1. A manufactured cone made to these specifications may be used upon prior approval.

a. Fiberglass Resin: Flame retardant orthothallic polyester.

b. Glass Fiber Content: 30 to 35 percent by volume of the finished project exclusive of the gel coat.

c. Finished Fiberglass Product: Barcol hardness of 40 or more, ASTM D2583.

d. Gel Coat and Color: 12 to 15 mil IAPMO approved gel coat with dark brown color.

e. Apply gel coat to exposed exterior (when installed) and interior surfaces of sump.

2. Production Mold.

a. Use a tooling gel coat to provide a smooth coat on all forming surfaces.

b. Equip production mold with fittings necessary to support mold during fabrication of the final production items. Incorporate fittings to become a permanent part of the mold structure.

c. Fabricate to the form shown on the Drawing using spray gun lay-up techniques.

d. Mold in 4 inch diameter PVC couplings and 3 inch diameter PVC cleanout adapter at the locations shown on the Drawings. Sand fittings lightly to remove surface gloss.

e. Fasten screen to cone with bolts and nuts with washers on top of screen and under nut.

f. Disposition of Mold.

1) After acceptance of fiberglass wastewater sump units, deliver mold to the COR.

B. 4 inch Coupling and 3 inch Cleanout Adapter.

1. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) fittings, ASTM D3034.

C. Wire Mesh.

1. Heavy grade wire cloth, 2-1/2 mesh per inch, 0.148 inch wire diameter, hot-dip galvanized in accordance with ASTM A123.

D. Fasteners.

1. l/4 inch diameter, 1 inch long bolts, each with nut and two 1/2 inch diameter washers, all stainless steel.

E. Bolts, Nuts and Washers.

1. 3/8 inch diameter, 1 inch long bolts, each with nut and two 1 inch diameter washers, all stainless steel.

F. Concrete Support Ring.

1. Provide one of the following:

a. Precast Concrete.

1) Construct ring with #4 rebar loop in center and install on a 3 inch leveling course of bedding material.

b. Cast-In-Place Concrete Ballast.

1) Place concrete on undisturbed soil.

7. Part 3 - EXECUTION

7.01 Installation

A. Install sumps at the locations shown on the Drawings.

B. Install sumps level.

C. Remove all dirt and debris from the interior of the sump.

D. Attach cone to sump in the four locations provided using bolts, nuts and washers specified above.

E. Construct gravel aprons to the form shown on the Drawings.

F. Clean exterior of cone.

7.02 tolerances

A. Maximum deviation from dimensions shown on the Drawings is ± 1/16 inch in thickness and ± 1/4 inch in any other dimension.

8. Part 4 - MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT

8.01 Method of Measurement

A. Measurement will be of each completed Fiberglass Wastewater Sump.

8.02 Basis of Payment

A. Payment will be at the Contract unit price for each Fiberglass Wastewater Sump accepted. Fabrication of production mold is incidental to the work. Clearing, grubbing, excavation, and backfilling are incidental and separate payment will not be made.

9. Part 1 - GENERAL

9.01 summary

A. This section specifies furnishing and installing fiberglass recreation site ID signs, and sign base.

10. Part 2 - PRODUCTS

10.01 Materials

A. Paint

1. Brown American Tradition Base-1 3006-6B, and Cream American Tradition Base -4 1011-10.

B. Sign Base

1. Treated post and lumber shall be in accordance with AWPA C2 waterborne preservatives for soil contact, or plastic posts and lumber meeting manufacture specifications to attach #RS-1, FS shield and USAD byline.

C. Signs

1. Fiberglass signs to meet specifications of Country Classic #RS-1, FS shield, and USDA byline or an approved equal.

11. Part 3 - EXECUTION

11.01 Construction

A. Sign Base

1. Install as per the manufacture’s recommendations and dimensions shown on the Drawing. The sign location shall be approx. 7-10’ from the right shoulder of the campground entrance road, and approx. 45-50’ from the shoulder of road 22 or staked on the ground by the COR.

B. Signs

1. Install RS-1 (30”x48”), FS shield, and USDA byline signs as per the manufacture’s recommendations and shown on the Drawings.

12. Part 4 - MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT

12.01 Method of Measurement

A. Measurement will be the number of completed recreation site signs, furnished and installed.

12.02 Basis of Payment

A. Payment will be made at the Contract unit price for each Recreation Site Sign accepted.

B. Excavation, backfilling and hardware required for this item of work is indirect.

1. Rockart Signs and Markers model #03-435, square tube steel 6”x6”posts, or an approved equal.

15. Part 3 – EXECUTION

15.01 Construction

1. Locations shown on the Drawings or marked on the ground. Set in concrete 30” deep.

B. Panels

1. Install four (48”x48”) panels as per manufacture drawing and specifications.

16. Part 4 - MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT

16.01 Method of Measurement

A. Measurement will be the number of completed Bulletin Board with Panels, furnished and installed.

16.02 Basis of Payment

A. Payment will be made at the Contract unit price for each Bulletin Board with Panels accepted.

2. Construct base, tabletop and seats with 8 1/2 sack Portland cement, and install reinforcement bars as per manufacture specifications.

20. Part 4 - MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT

20.01 Method of Measurement

A. Measurement will be for the number of completed picnic tables furnished and installed.

20.02 Basis of Payment

A. Payment will be made at the Contract unit price for each Picnic Table accepted.

21. Part 1 - GENERAL

21.01 summary

A. This section specifies furnishing and installing steel camp site markers.

1. ASTM A36.

B. Framing Anchors.

1. Simpson Strong-Tie, or an approved equal. Comply with ICBO ER 1211.

23. Part 3 - EXECUTION

23.01 Construction

A. Size (6’) and locations markers and materials are shown on the Drawings or marked on the ground.

B. Minimum weld, 1/8 inch fillet or butt welds unless noted otherwise. Grind exposed welds smooth. Clean all welds.

C. Welding shall conform to AWS requirements.

D. Set site marker in 30” depth concrete.

24. Part 4 - MEASUREMENT AND PAYMENT

4.1 Method of Measurement

A. Measurement will be for the number of completed Site Marker.

4.2 Basis of Payment

B. Payment will be made at the Contract unit price for each Site Marker.

C. Excavation, and concrete required for this item are indirect.
