Lolo National Forest, Ninemile Ranger District Solicitation AG-03R6-S-13-0050

Q and A # 1

Question 1: All items in a fertilizer Rx should add up to 100% including a carrier. your Rx adds up to 125%. Is this a typo?

Answer 1: Per Marc Haskins, Ranch Manager: The prescription for the fertilizer was determined by the Mineral County (MT) Extension Service. The blend figures related to the fertilizer components are pounds (#) of the fertilizer rate shown as 250# per acre. Page one of the Solicitation shows the following:

Nitrogen is 70……………………….# per 250# of the fertilizer rate per acre Phosphorus is 20………………….# per 250# of the fertilizer rate per acre Potassium is 20…………………….# per 250# of the fertilizer rate per acre Sulfur is 15……………………………# per 250# of the fertilizer rate per acre Boron is 0.

The Extension Agent says the remainder of the 250# is made up of the carrier. The carrier facilitates the calibration of the fertilizing equipment to provide for the uniform application to all acreage as required in the Solicitation. Per the Extension Agent, this is a ‘hot mix.’

Question 2: Is this quote for delivery of fertilizer or delivery and application?

Answer 2: On page one of the Solicitation paragraph two it states” furnish and apply specified pelletized fertilizer to the hayfields on the Ninemile Ranger District…”
