Q&A’s for AG-02RC-S-17-0120
Designer said that 16d nails are required for the fall protection D rings, a shorter nail like an could be used to attach the shakes and shingles as long as the government gets a 3/4-7/8 inch penetration into the subroof.
Secondly what the sheeting was on the Fenn Ranger Station. At Fenn we it was solid wood sheeting and at Selway Falls it was space sheeting.
Thirdly clarification on the sub roofing quantity. None of these roofs had been leaking to our knowledge. However, often when roofs are removed and inspected some subroofing needs to be replaced for leaks that happened but didn’t penetrate the ceiling. As a general rule we put a 5-10% replacement of sheeting in a roofing contract to cover those situations, if there is more or less work, required quantities can be adjusted at a later time.
