Solicitation Changes:
1. C-6 shall be changed to read water is NOT available at the site for construction purposes.
Items Addressed:
1. There are 3 large pieces of concrete currently located on either side of the boat ramp that shall be hauled off of national forest lands and disposed of. However, the large riprap and boulders do not have to be removed.
2. In the safety of operations section of the offeror’s technical proposal, the contractors need to be aware of and address safety procedures and plans for high ATV traffic within the area as well as bear safety and awareness. The Caribou-Targhee does have a food storage protection order in place.
Questions and Answers:
Q. At what measurements are expansion joints required?
A. Expansion joints shall be cut in every 10 feet with one joint down the middle of the ramp. All joints shall meet specification 033000.
Q. Is rebar epoxy required?
A. In accordance with the specifications, rebar epoxy is not required.
Q. How low do you anticipate the water level of the reservoir at time of construction? Will a dewatering plan be required?
A. Construction of the boat ramp will not occur until after September 8, 2015. At that time, the water levels should be low enough to not interfere with construction activities, therefore a dewatering plan is not required.
Q. Can water from the reservoir be used during construction for compaction and other construction activities?
A. Water is not available at the site for construction purposes. If the contractor anticipates drafting water from the reservoir or any other stream on the National Forest, it is the responsibility of the contractor to obtain all necessary permission and permits.
Q. Slip ramps are shown on the drawings at the bottom of the ramp but no cold joints are identified. Do we construct utilizing a cold joint?
A. All joints shall meet specification 033000.
Q. Is there a Forest Service source available for riprap?
A. No, there is none available. The contractor may use existing riprap around the current boat ramp during construction.
Q. Is the contractor responsible for hauling off trees and grub that is removed during excavation and construction?
A. Yes, the specifications identify that the trees and grub removed during excavation and construction must be removed.
Q. Is the existing floating boat dock going to be on-site during construction?
A. No, the Forest Service will coordinate with Fremont County to have the floating boat dock removed prior to work starting September 8, 2015.
