Aerial Supervision Module/Lead Plane Aircraft

Questions and Answers

QUESTION 1: What is the actual delivery date required for all aircraft? Items B.1 and C.28 seem to contradict one-another. Please confirm in the references below the actual delivery date of the aircraft.

ANSWER: The intent is to have the aircraft on the ramp for use 1 July 2015.

QUESTION 2: Would the Forest Service consider utilizing the existing 3rd FM radio owned by the Forest Service to comply with the below item? If availability of adding the radios from the manufacturer is a problem will the Forest Service loan us radios in the interim to satisfy the request?

There is current inventory at suppliers for radios. Additionally, a radio order is typically filled (radios built) within 4-6 weeks of order. There is sufficient time for contractor to secure radios. Not all regions are equipped to provide GFE given other aircraft requirements. Cache radios supplying to contract aircraft is not an option. The cache system will not provide FM radios to the contractor.

QUESTION 3: Is the WAAS upgrade required during the fire season? Can this particular upgrade take place during the “off-season”?

WAAS upgrade will not be required for this contract at any time. The WAAS upgrade was included in the specification by mistake. It is not required and will be removed from the specification at time of award.

QUESTION 4: Do the controls have to be integral to the audio controller? The previous contract does not include this requirement and may drive additional cost to the program.

This too, was not intended for this solicitation. This requirement will be removed from the specification at time of award.
