1.0 SCOPE OF SERVICE
The Contractor shall provide all professional services necessary for the accomplishment of the contract project and such required services shall be in accordance with the requirements as described herein and on attached contract documents.
1.1 Remove approximately 15” of soil and asphalt from the area to be paved (approximately 8050 square feet).
1.1.1 Excavated material shall be hauled off site for disposal. There is a landfill within three miles that will take the soil.
1.2 Remove 75 LF of curb and gutter.
1.3 Place geotextile fabric under the area to be paved.
1.4 Pavement will meet the east and south foundation wall of the shop.
1.5 Place 8 inches of 6 inch minus pit run and 4 inches of ¾ inch minus road base.
1.6 Apply 3 inches of asphalt. PG 58-28, ¾ inch mix design.
2.0 PROJECT REQUIREMENTS
The Contractor shall be responsible for verifying site conditions, making quantity take offs, obtaining accurate measurement of existing conditions, and performing any act or operation which may be necessary to properly bid the work and complete the same as depicted and specified. Failure to verify the existing site conditions shall not relieve the Contractor of the responsibility to complete the work as required.
2.1 The contractor shall properly dispose of existing parking lot materials.
2.2 Contractor shall ensure that the subgrade and/or base have been properly graded and compacted, and further ensure the cross-slope, elevation, and alignment for conformance. Contractor shall check for soft spots and ruts, and correct all deficiencies. Any damage to the subgrade or base must be repaired before paving. The subgrade should have a maximum variance of 0.75 inches per 10 feet.
2.3 The contractor shall coordinate the site investigations and site work with the COR. Construction shall be managed to provide minimal impact to the traffic in and around this area.
3.0 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
3.1 Installation: It shall be the responsibility of the Contractor to complete work in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations and Industry Standards. Additional procedures and materials may be required than is indicated herein. If any item specified herein conflicts with applicable codes and recommendations, the Contractor shall bring it to the attention of the Contracting Officer for immediate resolution.
3.2 In the performance of this contract, the contractor shall make maximum use of biobased products that are United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) designated items unless
(1) The product cannot be acquired
(i) Competitively within a time frame providing for compliance with the contract performance schedule;
(ii) Meeting contract performance requirements; or
(iii) At a reasonable price.
4.0 PROJECT SCHEDULE
4.1 90 Calendar day from Notice to Proceed.
