About this file

This sources sought announcement is seeking information from potential offerors for a construction project to perform maintenance and repairs on the spillway gates at Albeni Falls Dam. The project includes transporting each of the dam's 11 spillway gates to an offsite location for repairs such as removing existing coatings, repairing deficient welds identified in a 2012 inspection, repairing or replacing roller chains and tracks on the lower leaf of each gate, replacing guide springs and seals on the upper and lower leafs, recoating metal surfaces after repairs, and returning each gate to the dam. Construction is expected to take 36 months to complete work on all 11 gates in stages as only one gate can be removed at a time without impacting dam operations. The agency, the Department of the Army Corps of Engineers Engineering District Seattle, anticipates funding will be sufficient to complete repairs on approximately three gates in the initial award with additional funding expected in fiscal year 2024 to complete the remaining work. The estimated value of the overall construction is over $10 million.
