About this file

This document is a notice from the Town of Natick, Massachusetts inviting bids for the public auction sale of a surplus 2008 John Deere 410J backhoe. The auction will be conducted online through the publicsurplus.com website, with the listing opening on August 12, 2024 and closing on September 9, 2024 at 3:00 PM EDST. Interested bidders must submit their bids through the auction website, as the Town will not accept bids directly. The backhoe will be sold to the highest responsive bidder, though the Town reserves the right to reject any and all bids and negotiate a sale privately if the negotiated price exceeds the highest bid. The winning bidder will be required to submit a signed non-collusion form and certify compliance with Massachusetts tax laws prior to picking up the backhoe within 10 days of payment. The backhoe is being sold "as is, where is" with no warranties provided.

The auction listing provides details on the backhoe's condition, including that the transmission charge pressure is below factory specifications, causing issues with the parking brake. The starting bid and any reserve price are not specified. There are no set-asides, incumbent information, or funding sources noted in the document. Payment in full via electronic means through the auction website is required prior to the winning bidder's pickup of the backhoe from the Natick Department of Public Works.
