About this file

This is an Addendum 1a Q&A document for Dunn County, Wisconsin's Invitation for Bid #2021-06 for the Judicial Center Roof Replacement Project. The addendum addresses clarifications submitted by bidders regarding the roof replacement scope of work for the approximately 72,000-square-foot Judicial Center building. Key project specifications established through the question-and-answer process include a requirement for new counterflashing, a 20-year warranty on the roofing materials, and the prohibition on reusing existing metal coping. The county confirmed that new metal fascia may be substituted for traditional coping to reduce project costs. Access for construction equipment has been designated in two locations: a blocked-off area in the front parking lot for Judicial roof access and a designated area between the Menomonie Police Department and the sallyport garage on the building's backside for Jail roof access.

The addendum clarifies additional project requirements, specifying that the new metal does not need to be aluminum and that fascia metal is an acceptable alternative. Bidders are directed to Addendum 1b for architectural plans and additional project details, which are available on the county's purchasing website at https://www.co.dunn.wi.us/purchasing. The document addresses standard roofing specifications including ballast reuse and tax-exempt status considerations, establishing baseline parameters for bid submissions on this capital improvement project.

IFP #2021-06 Judicial Roof Repalcement

New Counterflashing required?

Warranty length, 15 or 20 year?

Can we reuse metal coping?

If new metal is required can we use Fascia metal in lieu of coping? It would cut costs.

What are the access points for a lift and or crane? (mark up a map possibly?)

No, we would like new metal

The new metal does not need to be aluminum, Fascia metal would be ok

We would block off an area in the front parking lot for access to the Judicial roof and the area between Menomonie PD and the sallyport garage on the backside of the building for the Jail roof (see attached map)

Please see addendum 1b

Tax exempt?

Reuse ballast?
