About this file

This document is an Addendum to an Invitation for Bids (IFB) for the Tennis Outdoor Court Design project issued by the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University Procurement Department. The addendum provides clarifications and additional information, including changes to the bid submission deadline, acrylic surface manufacturers, asphalt mix design, and court slope requirements. The project generally involves replacing the existing six tennis courts with six new courts, a concrete foundation for future bleachers, and a drainage system. The awarded contractor will need to obtain a Construction General Permit from the Department of Environmental Quality before starting the project and may begin as early as the second week of May.

The addendum also addresses requests for information, including the extent of the electrical work required, which consists of installing 3-inch empty conduit from the existing power box to each scoreboard and light pole. The existing electrical capacity will need to be verified when the time comes to install scoreboards and court lighting.
