About this file

This document is an Addendum to an Invitation to Bid (ITB) issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky Department for Facilities and Support Services Division of Engineering and Contract Administration for the Beach Building Demolition project at Fort Boonesborough State Park. The addendum provides clarification on several questions related to the disposal of concrete debris, preservation of trees, utility capping, salvageable items, and the need for a temporary office. It confirms that there are no unit prices for this single bid item and that repairs to any damaged blacktop access and egress routes can be limited to the affected areas. The ITB seeks bids for the demolition of the beach building at the state park, with a bid due date of July 11, 2023.

The addendum does not provide any information on pricing terms, set asides, incumbents, funding requirements, or sources. It is focused solely on clarifying technical details and responding to contractor questions related to the scope of work for the demolition project.

ADDENDUM NO. Three (3)

Beach Building Demolition

Fort Boonesborough State Park

Invitation to Bid No. RFB-286-23

July 10, 2023

The following addendum items officially modify the construction documents and become binding to the contract for construction. (Contractor is to note receipt of all addenda on their bid form of proposal.)

General Notes:

This addendum answers questions posed….

1. Is the concrete debris required to go to the landfill or can it be hauled offsite for fill to another location?

Concrete may be disposed of in any legal manner complying with all federal, state, and local rules and regulations.

2. Are you all wanting to keep the trees around the building and use that grade to match back up with?

All trees outside the area marked on the plans for demolition are to remain. Trees inside the marked area should be preserved if permitted by demolition activity.

3. Where are the utilities to be cap off at? The meter, manhole, and transformer or just a certain distance away from the building.

All utilities are capped except water and sewer. Contractor to cap water at the meter and cap sewer at the manhole adjacent to the building.

4. Who determines what items will be described as salvageable?

Nothing in the building is to be salvaged and returned to owner.

5. Will a temporary office be required or is there an opportunity to use a location nearby?

A temporary office building is not required. If the contractor decides a temporary office is necessary then contractor shall provide it at their expense.

6. Since this is a single unit bid, how do I address this unit issue within submitting the bid package?

There are no unit prices with this bid.

7. Since the access and egress routes are blacktop there is a chance for damage to the current surface. If damage does occur, can the repairs be limited only to the affected area as long it conforms to the surrounding blacktop?

It is acceptable to patch and repair only the damaged areas inside the park.
