About this file

This document is an Addendum to Invitation for Bid (IFB) No. 10201908 issued by the California Department of Water Resources (DWR). The IFB is for the manufacturing, testing, and delivery of four (4) 108-inch butterfly valve assemblies for use in the DWR Santa Ana Pipeline located in the State Water Project (SWP). The addendum addresses a question from a prospective bidder regarding the licensing requirements to bid on this project, specifically the need for a valid General Engineering Contractor's License Type A, which is one of the minimum qualifications listed in the solicitation.

The solicitation requires bidders to have a DIR number, which necessitates having a California contractor's license. The addendum clarifies that the Type A General Engineering Contractor's License is the appropriate license for this project due to the nature of the work involved. Prospective bidders are directed to the California Contractors State License Board (CSLB) website for a description of the Type A license requirements.

NOTICE TO PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS

August 2, 2024

To All Prospective Bidders:

DWR received the following question(s) for IFB No. 10201908 for manufacturing, testing, and delivery of four (4) 108-inch butterfly valve assemblies, for use in the DWR Santa Ana Pipeline located in the State Water Project (SWP). Addendum 1 includes the following:

Q1. As we understand, this IFB requires that a potential bidder to have a DIR number and in order to get this DIR number, I need to have a CA contractors license number. I have researched, but have been unable to find any licensing classification on www.cslb.ca.gov that matches our scope of supply for this IFB which is to manufacture, test and deliver four(4) 108-inch butterfly valve systems. Can you provide assistance in this matter?

A1. A valid General Engineering Contractor’s License Type A is one of the minimum qualifications to bid on this project due to the nature of the work. This is referenced on Page 5 of the Solicitation under section B, Bidder Minimum Qualifications as well as on page 19, Bid Checklist. For a description of this license type, please see cslb.ca.gov/About_Us/Library/Licensing_Classifications/Licensing_Classifications_Detail.aspx?
